Greek School of Bucharest - Home

The teachers of the Greek School of Bucharest "Athena" are appointed by the Hellenic Ministry of Education. Their mission is to equip pupils, starting at an early age, with solid education that stands at the basis of lifelong development and learning.

Ms. Maria Kavalari has over 30 years of teaching experience. She holds a degree from the National Academy for Teachers in Mytelene, as well as accreditations for English language proficiency from reputable institutions in the UK and US. She taught primary school children in Mouzaki and Chios, and spent one year at the Greek School in Kinshasa (Congo). Since 2008, Ms. Kavalari acts as the Principal of the Greek School of Bucharest "Athena".

Ms. Maria Papa has a wealth of experience in teaching preschoolers. She holds degrees from Thessaloniki Pedagogic School and the Learning and Preschool Education of Kapodistria University in Athens, as well as various specializations focused on preschool learning. Ms. Papa joined the Greek School of Bucharest "Athena" in September 2008.

Mr. Vasilis Efthymiou is a music teacher with over 6 years of experience and holds a degree from the Macedonia University of Thessalonica. He services the Greek Educational system since 2004.

Mr. Stefanos Kalogiros has over 20 years of experience as an elementary school teacher, and holds degrees from the Pedagogical Academy of Larisa and the Aristotle University of Thessalonica. Previous to joining the Greek School of Bucharest "Athena", he was responsible with Sanitary / Health Education of the Elementary Learning of Trikala.

Mr. Charalampos Schoinarakis has 20 years of experience in teaching sports and related courses, and holds degrees from Greece and Romania. Previous to joining the Greek School of Bucharest "Athena", he taught preschoolers at the N. Petritsi Serres, Achladohori Serres and in Naxos.
